INSTRUCTION

A wide range of possibilities for instruction of Vietnamese music is offered by the IVM. While one-on-one teaching can be arranged in the District of Columbia, California, Ohio, and certain other states, video and online instruction would be possible for students working on their own learning schedule in remote sites. Vocal instruction includes the study of folk and traditional chamber songs. Various musical instruments like dan tranh zither, dan bau monochord, dan nguyet lute, goong bamboo tube zither, t’rung xylophone, etc. are taught by our instructors in the US, Australia, and Vietnam as well.

COURSES

Now you can become experienced in Vietnamese music and culture with courses offered by the IVM. Our Ethnomusicology-related courses provide an understanding of Vietnam’s various musical traditions, including its musical instruments, the ethnographic backgrounds of the musicians, and the musics’ relationships between Vietnam and other Asian countries.

Instructors at the IVM are professional, internationally known scholars in the field of Ethnomusicology, whose first-hand experience helps you better understand the music and culture of Vietnam and the Vietnamese communities in the world.

Convenient Locations and Scheduling. Courses are available online, so you attend the class from virtually anywhere. Discusssions can be scheduled depending on instructors’ availability (usually Mondays).

CERTIFICATES

After having attended each 10-lecture segment, you are given a Certificate which attests to your attainment of this knowledge on the subjects concerned.
